About Tyler Murray

Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Tyler had an interest in film making since the age of ten. Later he followed this aspiration to study Media production at School Of The Arts high school in San Francisco. Throughout high school, he narrowed his vision to Art Direction, stimulated by the idea of creating worlds and visual elements for film and T.V.

After a year in community college he attended North Carolina School of the Arts for a Bachelors in Film Production Design. It was here that he experienced working in a number of different positions in the Art Department such as a set Dresser, props person, make-up artist, scenic painter, construction coordinator, assistant art director, production designer as well as a director and writer. Also during the course of his studies he interned with production shops and scene houses, Acme Scenery Company in San Francisco and M5 Industries/Mythbusters.

 

Tyler offers a professional attitude with a willingness to get any job done whether it is budgeting, designing, drafting or utilizing his knowledge of the basics of film. Importantly he knows how to work on a set.

Tyler's interest in the art department in film does not limit him to other mediums and venues of work such as trade shows, displays, or theater. He is adaptable and will go wherever the opportunity and challenge will lead him.

Tyler plans to continue his studies in fine art, either Illustration or Industrial Design. Presently, his goal is to design for the entertainment industry, possibly direct commercial and personal films in the future.
